The Plot Thickens or Only The Shadow Knows Where This Is Going
The computer screen went blank. Sharon wiggled the mouse, thinking the power saving feature had kicked in. The screen came back to life, but her email window was no longer in evidence. Sharon decided that drinking coffee would be more productive than staring mindlessly at her strangely acting computer. So she went to fetch a cup. Again, the cats swarmed around her feet. Sharon checked the food dishes. They were full. Likewise the water dishes. The litter boxes had been cleaned the evening before, what could the cats want? They were circling Sharon's legs like furry sharks. (Yeah, I'm trying to make this cheesy) Round and round they went as Sharon got a cup from the cupboard. Their circling stretched into an ovaling as she crossed to the fridge for creamer. Back to a circle as she poured creamer into the cup. Ovoid again during the few steps to the coffee maker. Soundlessly moving on their little black paws.
This was getting seriously freaky.
Sharon took her coffee into the living room and grabbed the remote. She felt a little news was in order. CNN always put the cats to sleep. She clicked on the tv and sat down. The cats sat in front of her and stared as if to say, "What do you think you're doing?"
The largest of the cats -Miss Friday The Thirteenth- got up and strutted to the front door. Friday put a paw on the door, turned her head to look at her clueless mistress, and made a question mark of her tail. The other two cats followed suit.
"All right! I get the point!" Sharon declared.
She set down her unsipped coffee, put on her shoes, grabbed her purse, and went out into the rain.
