A Wet Start -or- It Was A Dank And Drizzly Day

Sharon took a deep breath and began typing. She was not sitting on a beach with the sea breeze lifting her hair -no matter what the image on her blog implied. She was sitting at a computer in the basement, listening to the rain outside.
"I believe I need a cup of coffee before I continue," she thought.

Sharon climbed the basement stairs and went into the kitchen. Her 3 black cats swarmed at her feet, and she wondered again if she would be rescuing black cats until her dying day. She probably would. It pained her to think of all the jet-colored kitties out there, suffering for the shade of their fur. "People have such stupid phobias," She thought as she poured beans into the grinder.

The coffee grinder startled the cats, who went skittering off in all directions. Sharon never understood their fright. After all, the can opener was just as loud; and that sound drew them to the kitchen like moths to a flame. That, and the sound of a bread wrapper being opened. Bread meant sandwiches, and sandwiches meant torn off scraps of lunch meat for kitties.

As the coffee was brewing, Sharon checked her e-mail. There was a message from onlinehoroscopes.moc. She thought, "I never signed up for e-mailed horoscopes... Must be more spam." She sighed and clicked to delete it. The email vanished into the recycle bin, but was replaced with a pop-up. Sharon used Mozilla, so any and all pop-ups should have been blocked.

This one was not flashy, as far as pop-ups go. It was simply text reading, "Your horoscope for November first: You should get out more." Sharon clicked the X to close the box, and was surprised when the text was replaced with, "Seriously.", and then, "The novel can wait."
